Insights Tab

This tab is available, if the Insights collaboration type is enabled in this Media DCR and you have the "View insights" permission.

As soon as both seed and base audiences have been provided, the insights statistics are automatically computed. This may take up to several hours, depending on the data size.

Insights are shown for a selected seed audience (audienceType). Insights are only shown if the overlap between the selected seed audience and the base audience includes at least 100 users.

The insights dashboards show statistics about the selected seed audience in terms of base audience attributes. The insights can be used for:

  • Designing targeted creatives – understand interests and preferences to craft relevant creatives.
  • Selecting inventory – choose the most suitable inventory based on audience insights.
  • Planning contextual campaigns – identify contexts where the campaign will perform best.

There are four views:

  1. Basic: a quick overview of the match rate, demographic overlap, and top segments.
  2. Detailed: a deeper view, showing how demographics and segments interact in combination with each other.
  3. Comparison: a side-by-side view of different advertiser audiences.
  4. Explorer: a custom data visualization engine that allows looking at different slices of data along different axes using dropdowns.

  • “Not enough users in overlap” usually indicates a mismatch in the configured ID type (or hashing). Verify that both sides used the agreed format.
  • Affinity ratio = (Share in overlap) ÷ (Share in matchable base audience).
  • Privacy safeguards (aggregation, noise, rounding, suppression) prevent identifying individual users.
  • If Show absolute audience sizes is disabled, the charts display relative values only.
